Kad Sala Lanna allows you to deeply connect with the Thai local culture in a natural and relaxing environment. We welcome everyone to come and join our community in this mountainous province in northern Thailand.
WHY VOLUNTEER AT KAD SALA?
English Lessons and Community Development: We work with local people that have very limited access to English education. Our main goal is to make sure they are able to communicate with foreigners and open our community to the world. We need volunteers who have a passion for education and enjoy working with young children.
THAI CULTURAL EXCHANGE
Woodcarving: We are part of a community with a strong cultural background in traditional woodcarving. You will be able to learn a lot about it and see the daily routine of handicraft masters. With this project we hope to promote woodcarving and make sure the tradition doesn’t fade way.
Thai Cuisine: You’ll also be able to learn how to cook traditional Thai dishes and go to local markets nearby.
Buddhism: Kad Sala gives you the opportunity to learn about Buddhism through conversations with monks and visiting local monasteries.
Natural and Relaxing Environment: We are in a very quiet and beautiful area, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You can enjoy running, cycling, exploring, reading, cooking and other activities. In our open space you have access to meditation and yoga areas as well as a beautiful relaxing garden.
Friendly Environment: We are looking for relaxed and friendly volunteers to be part of our team. We receive a lot of volunteer travelers from around the world and you’ll always be in the company of friendly locals.
We are seeking volunteers to help increase access to English in our community in order to promote higher education, build vocational skills, and enhance career prospects among students.
Every weekday, as volunteers you’ll have the opportunity to teach English, provide support at local schools, and team up with other international volunteers in order to prepare classes and games for the kids to learn and practice English.
You don’t need to be qualified or an experienced teacher, we just expect you to be responsible and take this job seriously. The influence that international volunteers have on our community is major and it goes beyond the classroom. The cooperation between volunteers and teachers promotes cultural exchange and understanding as well as global awareness.
After the scheduled classes and tasks you’ll have a lot of spare time that you can and should use to explore San Pa Tong! We provide a bicycle for you to borrow to see the area around and explore the local markets, schools and monasteries. The San Pa Tong city center is located about 15 minutes (by bicycle) from Kad Sala where you can get cheap meals, vegetables and fruit from the markets and street food.
